PLEASE NOTE: This is the SAME clarinet. The price is higher because this package includes Bradford Behn’s beautiful adjustable barrel in mopane that he made just for this instrument. The barrel has an aluminum ring, and is 61-66 mm.

It’s a wonderful barrel and suits this clarinet spectacularly. I also paid $800 for it, and am putting it in this package for $500.

If you like the clarinet but are fine with the stock barrel (which also happens to be a lovely barrel, it just happens to be darker than the rest of the instrument) then please put the OTHER listing in your cart instead of this one. :-).

This is a Buffet R13 Bb Clarinet in mopane wood, with silver-plated keys, Serial No. 764672.  It has an adjustable thumb rest and is scrupulously clean.

It is a super nice instrument.  I purchased it new in May of 2024 from Rodriguez Musical Services in Georgia.  It was very recently checked over and adjusted by them to make sure it is in tiptop condition.  It is SO smooth and lovely to play.

I have quite a clarinet collection, including a Buffet Legende, so I want to find a new home for this one. It deserves to be played!

You can research mopane wood clarinets (I did before I decided on this one).  They are said to resist cracking a bit more than grenadilla clarinets.

You can also go to the Buffet site, the Rodriguez site, or other clarinet sellers and read all about the mopane R13.

The keys are still very shiny, as my system does not react with silver, and I keep a silver strip in the case.  The pics don’t always do silver keys justice. I’ve also kept the instrument around 50% humidity, and I’ll leave the little digital hygrometer/thermometer in the case.

The case is black (it may not look black in the picture), lined in black and in perfect condition.  Sadly, photos show every speck of lint). 😊.

There is no mouthpiece included.
